Climate and When To Go

The Maldives has a tropical climate that is characterised by two seasons: the dry season from December to March, and the wet season from May to November. The temperature, however, remains at a constant 30°C and visitors can enjoy the Maldives all year round. The peak season runs from December to April when there is less rain and lower humidity.

As a general rule diving and snorkeling is better on the western side of any atoll from May to November and on the east from December to April. The surfing season in the Maldives runs from March to October during the wet monsoon season.
