Located in the north of the island near the popular Grand Baie, Merville Beach is spread out amongst lush tropical gardens with an architectural style that is both comfortable and authentic. The magnificent soft sandy beach which runs the length of the hotel is perfect for swimming, watersports and long walks at sunset.

The rooms and chalets, most with dressed stonewalls and thatched roofs, are scattered throughout the gardens and all have either balconies or terraces for relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings.

Restaurant & Bar

La Terrasse (7 am to 10 am / 12 pm to 3 pm / 7 pm to 9.30 pm) with its terrace, lies surrounded by lush, tropical gardens. The ambience is one of serene tranquillity, overlooking the swimming pool and with wonderful views out over the whole bay.

The restaurant has a reputation for exotic cuisine, inspired by Chinese, Creole and French traditions. La Terrasse's special touches include tables d'hôte menus, buffets and friendly barbecues.

Le Badamier (10 am to 1 am), the bar feels comfortable and relaxing. Sitting under a traditional thatched roof, guests can admire the breath taking view of the turquoise lagoon, whilst sampling colourful cocktails, local drinks or a range of international beverages. The Bar also provides a Beach Service during daylight hours.

Entertainment

The resident band entertains guests every evening with a great variety of international and local favourites _ whether it be for dancing or just listening and dreaming under the tropical night sky.

Evening entertainment also includes Sega nights, featuring colourful Mauritian dances and songs, and cabaret shows.

Leisure & Activities

Water Sports, which are free of charge, are water-skiing, windsurfing, lasers, pedal boats, kayaks (single and double), snorkelling and glass bottom boat rides. These are all available through the independent Boathouse. For a fee guests can also enjoy big game fishing, speedboat trips, catamaran cruises and an independent diving centre, managed by a qualified instructor (CMAS/DIWA). Tuition is available for beginners as well as for experienced divers.

Land-based Activities available are floodlit tennis courts, volley-ball, a football pitch and gym and, for a fee, mountain bikes are available for rental.

There is also a golf course 15 minutes' drive from the hotel. Green fees are payable.

Escape Spa

Conceived with care and extreme attention to detail, the Escape Spa will delight guests, and convey a discovery of new experiences. A private retreat hidden away in the lush gardens of the resort, the Spa provides guests with five star treatment. Afterwards enjoy the tranquility of the relaxation area which boasts the very best views of the lagoon.
