Golf

Mauritius has become a premium golfing destination with rolling fairways and challenging greens running alongside the blue Indian Ocean and volcanic mountains. Here you can you enjoy a swim in the blue waters of the Indian Ocean and within minutes be golfing on a course designed by one of the golfing greats. If you are looking for a golfing getaway, or just a round of nine with some friends, Mauritius has what you are looking for.

Visitors to the east side of the island can enjoy the magnificent Le Touesserok, which is situated on its own island and is accessible only by boat or helicopter. Alternatively there are the two Championship courses of Constance Belle Mare Plage, the Links and the Legend, that offer exclusive golfing in the most breathtaking of settings.

On the south-west side of the island, Paradis Golf Course offers golfers a chance to enjoy the most of the island while still enjoying the world class courses of Mauritius.

Green fees are generally free or minimal for guests at hotels with courses. It is advisable to bring your own clubs and balls as the airlines do offer a 20 kilogram sporting allowance; however club hire is possible from the golf courses. Most courses have trained professionals who are willing to assist you in any way. It is not imperative to stay at a hotel with its own course as hotels can organize transport, but often staying at a hotel with its own course allows you to make the most of your time as travelling is then minimal. Certain courses such as the Constance Belle Mare Plage Legend are exclusive to hotel guests, while Le Touesserok is open for the public.
